In pursuance of its global role to promote sound moderate teachings of Islam, Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta has released a new issue of its bi-monthly English magazine Insight titled “Women’s Rights in Islam”. This issue came in response to the debate on social media and the burning questions relating to women’s rights in Islam.
The issue brings to focus the Islamic response to FGM, marriage of minors, marital rape, and many other issues in relevance to women’s daily lives. The magazine highlights the cultural myths about women that society mistaken with religion such as legal testimony and women’s right to financial independence, work, choosing a spouse etc.
